Richmond, BC | September 2, 2015

The 2015 Senior Triples Championships came to an exciting end after six days of competition at the Richmond Lawn Bowling Club in British Columbia.

On the men’s side, ten teams from six provinces battled for a chance to take home top prize.  While none of the teams finished the round robin with a perfect record, seven of the ten teams finished with more wins than losses.  It was team Nova Scotia ‘A’; Steve Bezanson, Doug McLearn and Jack Robar, who led the pack through to the medal rounds.  On the final day of competition, the gold medal game was played between Nova Scotia ‘A’ and Alberta ‘B’; Robert Rodzinyak, Dave Cox and Keith Wylie, who had finished third in the round robin standings.  Nova Scotia ‘A’ won the game 15-6 to win the gold medal, while Alberta ‘A’; Brian Ranger, Paul Maskell and Jim Berry, beat Nova Scotia ‘B’ to win the bronze medal.

In the women’s division, five of the ten teams finished with a winning record with team British Columbia ‘B’ leading the pack with an 8-1 record.  Team Ontario ‘B’, Alberta ‘A’ and British Columbia ‘A’ all finished the round robin with six wins out of a possible nine.  In the gold medal game, it was British Columbia ‘B’; On-Kow Au, Shirley Lai and Rainbow Lung who played Ontario ‘B’; Margaret Beacroft, Joan Way and Ruby Du Feu, and British Columbia was victorious winning 14-10.  Alberta ‘A’ took on British Columbia ‘A’; Marlene Cleutinx, Josephine Lee and Constance Desjardins, for the bronze medal and came up short with British Columbia winning 15-12.
